Surprise Origami Pony Photodiagram by Cyberglass Surprise Origami Pony Photodiagram by Cyberglass
A lot of people have been asking for this, so here a guide for how I get from my crease pattern [link] to something vaguely resembling a My Little Pony.

Of course, you can still do all the final shaping however you want. Just because this is how I do it doesn't mean this is the only good way. I would recommend following the instructions for orienting the legs right after collapsing the base, as that is the only step not in the crease pattern that is truly structural and not just detailing. Other than that, be creative! There are plenty of ponies with manes that don't look like the mane 6 (toy lines to the contrary). Go ahead and fold Cheerilee, or Bon-bon, or anypony else for that matter. Fill the world with origami ponies!

Pony Head Base still belongs to :iconcahoonas:
Instructions can be found here: [link]

Help! I can't collapse the base, especially the central point. The picture is hard to see. It would help if you could make a video showing to make it.

I love the finished product and I wish I could have one of my own, but I got stuck on frame 4. I tried and tried to copy what I saw but I just couldn't get the creases right, or get it to collapse the same way. In the end I had to give up because the paper was falling apart.
Will try again.

As a fellow origami and mlp-lover, i want to say : THANK YOU SO MUCH.

Really. I was thinking "oh my, i must design some models involving MLP nor find some CP/diagram then BAM i found your models then this photodiagram.

I managed to make a lovely surprise with a "classic" 15cm yellow origami paper and now i have my own little Surprise.

Did your models have been displayed in Equestria Daily ?

I'm glad the diagrams worked out well for you!

I noticed a scarcity of pony origami when I joined the fandom a year and a half ago, so I had to do something about it.

As far as I know, my origami has never been featured on EQD. I sent in my mane six models last year when I came out with this photodiagram, but I never heard back from them.

For the reverse fold part, can you show a video or something for us to see how it's done?

It tricky to show, but you have to reverse-fold the central point into the interior of the model, i.e. the valley fold on the right side of the central flap in the 4th picture becomes a mountain fold and the flap gets tucked away.

One of the diagonals of the central point is folded the opposite direction as the others, so that the point comes toward you and gets folded in half lengthwise, allowing you to tuck it into the middle of the model (the tip ends up in one of the back legs). I hope that helps, I'm not that good at explaining it verbally.

There <is> a white Wonderbolt with yellow poofy hair. Coincidence? I think not.

Maybe I should make a Spitfire one of these days. It shouldn't be too hard to color-change the wings.
